Meiping

This author’s selected examples: 1175 and 947. Recognize the combination of a short neck, full high shoulders and a body tapering toward a narrow foot. Compare the placement of the widest part and the curve of the lower body, independently of material and decoration.

Meiping versus spade — body depth: this author’s distinguishing feature: Meiping has a rounded, three-dimensional body, round in cross-section; the spade examples have flattened bodies. Similar front outlines do not establish the same form. Use side, angled or base photographs to assess depth; if depth is not visible, leave this distinction uncertain.

Approximate manual photographic outlines. Stoppers are excluded; the neck and lip remain part of the bottle outline. Overlays use equal lip-to-base height, preserving photographed proportions without stretching. Camera angle and small contour details can affect the match.
